Easy Outdoors Field Trip: Red River County Park

As we continue to limit unnecessary contact with people outside our pandemic bubble when possible, we continue to take advantage of the many outdoors entertainment options in or near Brown County.

Last Friday and Saturday we headed to Red River County Park in Kewaunee. It’s on the bay, just a few miles past Brown County’s Bay Shore Park (another favorite).

Usually we head here when we (Me) need the sound of waves and (Paolo) needs to throw or skip rocks. The rocky shoreline makes it perfect for both.

He’s sure this is a fish fossil.

We went to fish and read, (Well, one of us is fished and the other read), but the park is perfect for picnics, wading, fossil hunting, bird watching, playing on the playground, or just plain relaxing while soaking up the outdoors.

This is one of our favorite outside getaways, what’s your favorite local retreat?
