“With your memory bank plugged in, then, you don’t have to look up the directions” says the icon Julia Child. When I was in about fifth grade I thought I could do just that, whip some ingredients together, heat them up, and create a new and delicious dish. I learned after ruining a few of my mother’s nice dishes cooking isn’t that simple. While I’ve come a long way since then, I still need to go back to the basics and master them. This year I’m working on plugging in my memory bank and putting it to work, with Julia’s help, of course.
