We’re all of us constantly editing our lives. Some of us are better at it than others. Some go to for the drama, some for sympathy, others go for the “big fish” angle, and some minimize it all. I find that I subconsciously edit for a “Happy Family”. I forget the crappy moments and move on. It’s like they never happened…until I run across the photographic evidence. This series of pictures is from last Thanksgiving. I simply wanted a nice photo of my son and I together. Just one photo. Instead we had to pry his fingers one by one from his scooter and cajole him into smiling….just once. Judging from his facial expressions. you’d think I was an experienced torturer. Yep. I secretly pull out his toe nails every night until he complies. It turns out P edits, too. His edits make me out to be the meanest mom in the world, but you wouldn’t know that because I’m so good at editing.
15 photos later, here’s the best shot we were able to get last Thanksgiving…and I think that’s only because he had to stop complaining to take a breath.
