I had no idea our recent trip to Mexico would mean our son would make so much progress on his Bored Bucket List. This list is a project he’s been whining his way through for at least eight years. While in Mexico he took advantage of nearly every opportunity with bored potential and was able to tick lots of items off his list. He’s always been an overachiever.
His hard work began while touring a Spanish colonial church in Motul. Bored and hot. Check.
Then bored on a historic Campeche city wall. Check.
Painfully bored in a public library. Check.
And ridiculously bored at a historic military lookout. Check.
He was super bored waiting to get in Xcaret eco-archaeological park. Check.
He even bored himself to sleep while riding down the famous colonial street, Paseo Montejo, in Merida. Check.
And finally he was politely bored in a Museum of Mayan history. Check.
Instead of living life as a field trip, he’s living field trips as if they are punishment. My work here is done.
