You’ve worked hard this summer! This week you get to choose what interesting part of the expedition to explore. Take a break and enjoy. We’ll finish up our expedition in Oregon and Washington next week.

P and I chose to read more about the only African American on the expedition, Clark’s slave, York, in the book York’s Adventures with Lewis and Clark: An African-American’s Part in the Great Expedition by Rhoda Blumberg.
Expedition Activity & Writing
Choose your own activity or activities and write about it in your journal. P chose kayaking, he felt it was similar to traveling up rivers in pirogues. 
I chose a short National Geographic documentary, Lewis and Clark: Great Journey West. I’m also listening to Undaunted Courage by Ambrose and reading the young adult book Streams to the River, River to the Sea by Scott O’Dell. See you on the trail!
