Finding Beauty in the Longest. Winter. Ever.

Winter Shadows {Life as a Field Trip}
Aren’t the different shades of shadows beautiful?

It was -20 degrees Fahrenheit without wind when I woke up this morning. It seems like Old Man Winter is really enjoying his stay this year. Wisconsinites think this house guest has overstayed his welcome. Many of us are seriously considering hibernation and/or running away to a tropical island.

But there’s no sense in wasting months of my life pining for warmer weather. It will come. And since booking a cruise isn’t realistic, I find myself looking for ways to enjoy today, every day, until it warms up.

Please know that I am not actually a pinhead.

Last week I began to notice the gorgeous morning shadows all around me. Today I noticed how the shadows and my hat make me laugh.

Doesn't it look like a duck and a shark are trying to eat my phone?

And then I noticed how the shadows and wind play together.

I’m going for the windblown look today.

Now that I’m paying attention and not rushing with my head down from door to vehicle and back again, I wonder what I’ll notice next. Hopefully it’ll the mercury rising.
