Elf on the Shelf: Mom Exposed

Elf on the Shelf: Mom Exposed {Life as a Field Trip}
Elf-vis is SO busted!

“How come there’s a tag on Elf-vis, Mom? Did you buy him? Are you the one making him do things at night?” Uh oh…my stomach dropped. I wanted to run from the room. How could I have missed something as obvious as cutting the flippin’ tag off our Elf on the Shelf? I thought I could stare him down and he’d move on to something more interesting, but he stared me down hard. Earlier in the week he’d been asking questions about the elf leading towards the BIG question, but something always came up and he was distracted. This time no such luck. This time, I was like a deer in the headlights. I tried to stare him down, but he outlasted me.

Finally, I gave in, “Do you want to me to ruin the rest of the Elf on the Shelf days?”

He considered it, “How many days are left?” When he learned it’d be until Christmas he said, ” No. Don’t ruin it. But you have to tell it all to me when it’s done.”

So we’ve reached an unspoken agreement to believe until Christmas, at which point I’m sure he’s going to ask me, point-blank, about Santa. Good thing I have something pinned on Pinterest to help me with that.
