🌲Add this to your spring/summer bucket list! This was so much fun. The trail goes through the woods and then through part of the zoo. For me, the best part was walking among the treetops (and imagining I was in Swiss Family Robinson). But don't go too fast. Take your time traipsing through the treetops! It'll be over before you know it.

I’ve been going about aging in the wrong way. Age is far too flat. So two dimensional. We need something bigger to capture the beauty and brutality of living.

Children grow so rapidly, both their bodies and brains. The rapid growth and development are clear to those watching, but when we move into adulthood, our growth is no longer so visible. Honestly, most people aren’t interested in our inner evolution.

Our bodies continue to change slowly, but the wrinkles, hair loss, clicking knees, and spare tires don’t tell the whole story. People can’t see the ways we’ve loved and been loved, the adventures (of all sizes) we’ve been on, the losses suffered, the hardships, the people who have come into our lives, or the moments when we finally come into our own. Like Doctor Who's Tardis, we are bigger on the inside.

Following the walleye, northern pike, and sturgeon

Following the walleye, northern pike, and sturgeon as they move upstream (or up ditch) to spawn is one of our spring family traditions.

It's not often we get to observe these fish up close (unless they're on the end of a fishing line and I prefer to leave these beauties alone).

We spotted these (8) walleye on Brown Road today near the bay. We haven't seen pike yet, but we usually see them on Lineville and Brown Road. Sturgeon are my favorite and spawn a little later. We see them at the dam in De Pere and several spots on the Wolf River.

It's never a bad day searching for spawning fish. Even if we don't see a single one, we see all kinds of birds, tadpoles, frogs, turtles, muskrats, and once even fairy shrimp. There's always something to pay attention to in this great big world of ours 💚 #BeCurious
